Israeli Gaza airstrikes: Israeli airstrikes and shelling have worsened the situation in the Gaza Strip. According to the local health department, at least 57 Palestinians were killed in these attacks. The situation has become even more serious as Hamas is still formulating its official response to the ceasefire proposal presented by US President Donald Trump. Trump's plan stipulates that Hamas release all 48 hostages, of whom Israel claims approximately 20 are alive. In return, hundreds of Palestinian prisoners would be released, and Hamas would be required not only to step down from power but also to surrender its weapons.

However, the proposal offers no clear path to an independent Palestinian state. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has already accepted the proposal, but a large segment of Palestinians consider it too pro-Israel. Hamas has also indicated that several points in it are unacceptable.

Pressure on hospitals in Gaza

Nasser Hospital in southern Gaza reported 29 deaths in Israeli shelling, 14 of them in a humanitarian corridor where relief supplies are often transported under fire. Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah confirmed 16 deaths. The international organization Doctors Without Borders also confirmed the death of its doctor, Omar Hayek. Hayek was waiting for a bus when the attack occurred. Four others were seriously injured in the attack. The organization said Hayek was its 14th employee killed since the war began. Shifa Hospital in Gaza City received five bodies and several injured, but access has become extremely difficult due to the ongoing attacks. Seven more deaths have been confirmed from other hospitals.

Humanitarian aid ships blocked

Amid a severe humanitarian crisis, Israel intercepted more than 40 ships carrying relief supplies to Gaza, aiming to break the 18-year-old Israeli blockade. Several European lawmakers, including Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg, were also on board. The Israeli Foreign Ministry stated that all the people were safe and were being brought to Israel for deportation proceedings.

Skirmish on the West Bank

The Israeli military said it had killed one Palestinian attacker and arrested another in the occupied West Bank after they tried to ram a car into a military checkpoint and opened fire.A senior Hamas official stated that there are serious objections to several points of the proposal agreed upon by Trump and Netanyahu. An official response will be given only after discussions with other Palestinian factions. He also said that Hamas has conveyed its concerns to mediating countries such as Qatar and Egypt.
